Ceebu goes Silent on Christmas Mood

Its that time of the year – celebrations abound everywhere in the world – its the Diwali of the World – the festival of giving and sharing and joy.. and enjoying a well deserved holiday I was keen to make this day a remembered one… and what better way to enjoy than create some music (my missus would argue , but hey who’s missus doesnt ?)

I wanted to try my hand at mixing – my vocal and my keyboard – given the background, I promptly played a Carol (Silent Night) on my keyboard, then mixed it along with my audio track.

Here goes:

How Cheap Is Too Cheap? Take the Mourning Test

via How Cheap Is Too Cheap? – WSJ.com.

A very nice article about how Neal Templin anlayzes his spending habits and its impact on his personality -  I liked this nice piece..

So I put the question to our 17-year-old, Brendon, as he sat hunched over the breakfast table, shoveling scrambled eggs into this mouth. “A reader thinks I’m so cheap you’ll breathe a sigh of relief when I die,” I said. “That right?”

Brendon paused for a second. “It depends how much money you have,” he said. He resumed shoveling eggs.

I identify with Neal about the upbringing – we were 3 kids living on my dad’s meagre  salary – and never had the privilege of expensive toys or weekend movies. Our shopping used to be annual affair – namely Diwali – and limited to the necessities. I used to thrive on my friendships with other well endowed kids – using that time to learn to play the keyboard, learning how to drive a car and using the computers etc.

And where I differ from Neal – and I believe most of us would fall in this bucket -  is how I dont wont my kids to not enjoy life during their childhood. I dont shower my kid with expensive gifts or clothes – but make sure to satisify her wishes – where we (My wife and I) – deem possible and educateher on wishes that are “larger than life”.

We hope this will have a positive impact in her future and give her judgemental capabilities to make the decisions in her life.

My new composition

Recently I was taking a stroll in the beach – on a late Saturday evening – and a nice lil tune popped up in my head – and I captured the essence of it on my cell phone…

Subsequently, I had wanted to translate that into a song – however never got the time or energy to complete that. Yesterday I wanted to spend 10 mins on the keyboard and ended up spending more than an hour, trying to play that tune. I ended up playing the initial peice of that tune and capturing it on my mobile phone – (I recently bought a new Nokia E51 !) – and promptly set it as my ring tone.

Here is what I composed..

I have always wanted to be able to create a audio file and upload it online.. playable via a flash player… earlier, i tried to do something but wasn’t really successfull and ended up creating a streaming windows media bar.. which sometimes displayed properly and sometimes didn’t..

Today i recorded a couple of slokas recited by my daughter and it re-kindled my desire to upload it online by way of flash… and the result is this post… i ended up upgrading my windows live player… installing aleo mp3 to swf converter. et. al.

This article is a copy paste of the post by Tammy Erickson… I love it so much that I just could’nt prevent myself from reproducing it here !!

I’m worried about Generation X and corporations. As far as I can tell, these two have a tentative relationship at best – and are likely headed for some rocky times ahead.

This one is Hilarious…. Its actually a nice effort… Youtube style micro comedies..  taking on a typical South India Hubby – North India Wife combination…

I like Ria more than Ram (probably because of the audio – (Ria looks more natural while Ram looks more dubbing ?) Not ot mention, Ria does look cute, ;-)

This is an amazing site.. it lets you select the different symptoms that you select (some even with multiple sub choices to square down on the right symptom) and then tells you the different types of problems that are associated with that symptom…

An amazing tool for those wanting to know more about their medical condition and are not getting more of it from their doctors !!!
